Many things were learned over the course of this project, including how to create an effective objective tree, factors for consideration in design, common wind turbine objectives, and the importance of material selection. Most importantly, it must be stated that in all turbine designs and all engineering projects, many, many factors must be considered and controlled in order to maintain efficiency while meeting all design constraints. This project acted as an excellent introduction to engineering design, prompting curiosity, research, the use of technical skills, and teamwork, all of which are crucial to the engineering profession. Although the basics of wind turbine design were introduced in this project, many factors were left undiscussed. If this project were to be redone, or perhaps executed in a real-world setting, factors such as roof material, noise, air pollution, sustainability, and actual weather patterns would likely be brought into consideration. Furthermore, in a real-world setting, engineers may have to consider permissions for their designs. In conclusion, Engineering is about problem solving and maximizing/minimizing objectives while following restrictions. In any project, there are clear steps that must be taken to determine the best course of action for design including research, comparison of existing designs, creation, testing, fixing problems, finalizing, and permissions
